Get Food

Are you having trouble putting food on the table? If you are hungry and have a postal code that starts with L5L, L5M or L5N, we can help. You can use our Food Bank services once a month to receive 7 to 10 days of nutritionally balanced food, depending on the supplies available.

The amount of food you will receive is based on your family size.

If you live outside of our service area, but are a resident of Peel Region, please visit Peel Region Food Banks to see which food bank is closest to you. If you live in Halton Region, you can find the list of available food banks here

What to Expect?

Welcome to Eden Food for Change! Our goal is to provide you with access to good food in a dignified, respectful manner.

On your first visit, please let the greeter know that you are new to the food bank. They will arrange for you to meet with one of our advocates who will register you and your household.

The advocate will also be able to connect you to other resources in the Mississauga area that may be of help to you. You may ask to speak with an advocate at any time if you need additional information/support.

Please be sure to bring your own bags as we will not be providing bags or boxes!

What Do I Need To Register?

To register for the food bank please come within the first hour of the shift. This makes sure we have enough time to complete the registration process and provide you with all of the information you need.

If you are new to Eden and haven’t registered at any other food banks in Mississauga (and you live in the L5L, L5M or L5N postal code), you can use the link from this QR code or click HERE to pre-register yourself and everyone else in your household before you come to the food bank. Once you arrive at Eden, please provide proof of address and I.D. for each household member.

Please ensure that you bring the following information with you:

  • Identification for everyone in your household including children. This can be a driver’s license, birth certificate, passport, or health card
  • Proof of address – a utility bill, rental agreement or driver’s license with your current address is all you need for this.
  • Please be sure to bring your own bags as we will not be providing bags or boxes!

The advocate will complete your registration, explain how our food bank works and give you a member card. You will need your member card each time you visit.

Once you have registered, you will be provided with non-perishable and perishable food based on the size of your household, taking into account any special dietary needs/restrictions that were identified in the registration process.

  • The type of food you receive may vary from month to month based on what is available to the food bank.

If possible, you should arrange to have personal transportation to help you get your food home. Please let the volunteers know if you are walking or travelling by bus. You will need to bring bags and some way to carry all of your food. A bundle buggy or cart would also be a good option.
