On behalf of the Eden Food for Change Board of Directors I would like to wish Happy New Year to our supporters, volunteers and staff!
Thank you for your support and perseverance through our financial hiccup and restructuring in the spring and the personnel changes in the spring and fall. Thank you for continuing to provide caring, compassionate service to our client members.
Thanks to our angel donor Fyfe Foundation and increased donations from citizens, schools, organizations, religious groups and companies, we were able to get a new truck, our finances balanced and restart several programs such as the Fresh Produce Box which is now a profitable venture.
Thanks to all of the hardworking volunteers who help in the food banks, warehouse, food drives, special events, produce box assembly and distribution, Hunger Awareness, Toonie Tuesday, Riders Against Hunger and A Taste of Eden.
We now have volunteer committees for Finance, Fundraising, HR, Health and Safety and Policy and Procedures that are looking for new members.
Our budget is projecting a profitable 2018 with your continued support. We have rejoined TMFB to participate in the province wide milk, eggs and meat programs and to ensure supply of staple goods. Our food banks will continue to operate with no change although Battleford is initially considered to be a pantry in L5N by TMFB.
The Learning Kitchen expansion has resulted in more Corporate Team Building classes and school classes contributing to profitability.
Don’t forget the Volunteer Appreciation event in March and Hunger Awareness in May.
